ARC — In Time With You — Kristin Dwyer

“I think what’s important to remember is that we are not our choices. You are not defined by one moment. Hell, you aren’t even the sum of all those moments together. Change is what reminds us we are alive. And all of us have infinite choices to match our infinite hopes and dreams. Don’t become one thing. You are allowed to change as many times as you want. So, ask yourself: What do you want to change? And just tear out those old choices and start new.”

I read this book in less than 24 hours, I simply could not put it down. “In Time With you” follows Nieve Monroe, an aspiring painter, as she grieves the death of her boyfriend, Carter. A death she feels completely responsible for. That is, until she is sent back in time, to her freshman year of college, to before she even met Carter. Now she has a chance to change their story, to change their fate. But was it fate? As she changes thing, time keeps twisting and turning, affecting everything around her. Not sure of what is real (what happens or what you feel and remember), Nieve feels she is doing everything wrong. Especially the feelings she’s developing for Carter’s best friend, someone who used to hate her, those are definitely wrong. Or are they?

Summarizing this book was absolutely impossible. That short paragraph doesn’t do it justice. This book is a rollercoaster ride, that, although is labeled as Teen/YA, it most certainly is not. This novel looks into what it is to be understood, what time is, what makes something real. I cried, I laughed, I fell in love.

This book was so very different to everything I’ve ever read. I’m still in shock. Absolutely loved the storytelling, the loopholes, the art. This was such a beautiful read about what fate is or what it could be. If what is real is time or how we feel. I’ll be thinking about this book for a really long time.

If you enjoy dynamic storytelling, time-jumping, witchy vibes, and love stories that feel meant to be, “In Time With You” was made for you.
